I. Biography

A Bronx education, carried onto the stage.

Jeannette Bayardelle was born and raised in the Bronx, the youngest daughter of Claudie and Dr. John Bayardelle. She studied at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and graduated from Hunter College of the City University of New York, where she later returned as commencement speaker.

Across roughly two decades in professional theater, she has performed on Broadway and on tour, and in 2022 she received a Tony Award nomination for her performance as Mrs. Neilsen in Girl From the North Country. She is also a writer: she created the book, music, and lyrics of SHIDA and starred in it.

She founded The Bayardelle Foundation inspired by her mother, Claudie, who serves as its Honorary Chair, joining her family’s commitment to education and service with her own life in the arts.
